114 ports of registry, London being the most widely used.
Unlimited tonnage and age of vessel.
Original 5-year chain of title is required for ‘Private Pleasure’ registration (if difficult to obtain then an IOM port is a possible alternative).
EU or EEA companies are qualified for registered ownership.
Citizen of a EU member state exercising their rights under articles 48 or 52 of the EU Treaty in the UK are qualified for registered ownership.
3 month non renewable Provisional Certificate of Registry available and priority processing fees for speedy processing (sometimes suspended during busy periods).
5 year renewals of Certificates of Registry. No annual taxes.
Names can only be reserved with application and registration fee.
UK representative required for yacht owned by non UK company or person.
MCA compliance surveys conducted by Ensign (MCA Large Yacht unit) for over 24m or Classification Society for under 24m.
Yachts may transfer in from another British port without a new tonnage survey provided copy of ITC69 is provided.
Yachts may register with a British Deletion Certificate within 1 year without a new tonnage survey provided copies of last survey certificates are available.
Radio licences and Inmarsat commissioning available at any time prior to registration.
